Kerala Trip - Day3 [Kerala Kalamandalam @ Cheruthuruthy]

Sorry for posting it too late. On Day 3 of our trip we went to Kerala Kalamandalam, Cheruthuruthy. We were on "Morning with the Masters" programme for about 90minutes.. Here people learn various traditional arts of Kerala such as Mizhavu, Panchavadhyam, Chanda Melam, Thullal, Kathakali, Koodiyaattam etc. Kerala Kalamandalam is a residential school. The students here wake up around 4a.m. in the morning and attend their music/dance classes till 10a.m. Later they attend their regular academic classes. Once again in the evening they do their practices. Like this they almost do it for 10years. Overall it was a different and great experience.
Note: Kerala Kalamandalam is near Thrissur.

Gangai Konda Cholapuram at Jeyamkondan

கங்கைகொண்ட சோழபுரம், ஜெயம்கொண்டான்

I and my TATA ELXSI friends went for our colleague-cum-friend Manickam's marriage at Trichy. We planned to visit Gangai Konda Cholapuram. It is one of the Great Living Cholas Temples and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This temple was erected by Rajendra Chola to commemorate his victory over the Pala Dynasty (in northern India in the region of River Ganges). It is said that he brought Ganga River and purified the area of that temple.
